Still don't get what you're impressed about marketing wise. PR does not sell records in America and most of the press I've read about Beans has focused on his legal/prison woes anyway, not the music.
Ultimately I see this album as a set up for his next release though. He's getting his integrity back with this project to support the next one properly. Is that Snoop track Neptunes produced?
even street level sales of between 100 500K. All that adds up to brick city as far as his album sales go.
> I'm pretty sure he'll go Platinum!
I actually just got a new Neptunes produced Beans single called "Don't Stop" feat. Snoop Dogg from the Damon Dash Music Group (miss the old grey Roc promo 12" sleeves already). It's not bad but Beanie Mac going world wide? I still don't see it even with that big an assist, sorry.
Don't be sorry, I've been really dissapointed in Beanie Sigel throughout his career! I always found him to be more then a bit ignorant.
Tego, it will not happen, guaranteed! Unless one of these tracks he released pops big. If Jada's having problems getting there with a single as big as "Why" on his last album, there's no way Beans'll do if he doesn't get a big radio/video hit. Have his last albums even come close to platunum or even gone gold? "Don't Stop" is produced by the Neptunes and sounds like his best shot for that hit that I've heard so far.
But generally, I'm pretty sure he'll go Platinum! His promotion in my eyes has been stronger then Shyne's, and the album (From what I've heard) Air Max Tavas Green Glow Ebay Sounds a million times better. There's no beef to accompany the album, and not being able to travel up and down the radios is a problem. But not one that hasn't existed before.
that there's one rapper in the states that doesn't have love for Beans. I think that sets him apart from his bracketed rapper. I have to say that I'm dissapointed in the lack of respect that Def Jam have shown the internet and non hip hop media.
Damon Dash's marketing and planning on this album has been exemplory. I've definitely got the fever for this album! Through, interviews, mixtape tracks, download leaks among other things, the album has gained allot of momentum. Beanie and Damon Dash's joint project 'State Property' will release a follow up to the street classic (actually quite awful) movie 'State Property 2' will chronicle Beanie and Damon Dash's fight for control in the city of brotherly love (Philly). From what I've seen, the budget seems a million times bigger! The directing looks allot stronger and the film generally looks quite decent. I'll get the album before I give a damn about the movie though!
The only things i've read/ heard have been about the quality of the music and the growth of the man. I think he's looking beyond NY and the mixtape monoploy, he's gone to the West Coast to scoop up the Snoop fans, he went down south with the 'Purple Rain' track (Banger) and you already know he's got Philly. He's goig for the key chink market with the club bangers (Flatline) and the soulful tracks (Feel it in the air/ Purple rain). I see a targeted campaign, but not a compromising one, which is what most Def Jam campaigns can be accused of!
The publicity that Beanie's had around the album has been allot more music based though! The costs of promotion have been relatively low on this project for obvious reasons. So all we've really had, apart from his story rammed down our throats, is leaked material and mixtape tracks. He's got people talking about the quality of the product and the growth of the man! The Game was all about bringing the west back with very little direction or planning around the man's actual talents or shortcomings. The Game budget was ridiculous and started around 18 months ago, but Beanie's has been slightly low key but with Beanie in prison, Dame's budget has to fit the project. I think it has, Beanie's going world wide with this album! Juelz Santana's album will be tricky though, Dip Set are so huge in New York, but they've barely broken Platinum in the past, despite releasing Nike Thea Tan
Beanie's the kind of artist that will command the respect of other artists, I don't think Nike Air Max Tavas Suede
I think that the underlining factor in Beanie's album, is that the quality of the product is so much better then the majority of crap being released at the moment. I don't think that Jadakiss was interesting or "Controversial" enough for America as a person. With Beanie's best album, you've also got a hell of a story.
some of the best material. I'll be interested to see how Juelz does on his sophomore.

The reasons that I think I'm right to say that the bootleg that I heard was not the official tracklisting are many. Secondly, I recall Damon Dash saying in an interview recently that Beanie had recorded a record and shot the video for it with The Neptunes in the same day. That wasn't on the album I had! I can go on, but I'm fairly satisfied that 'The B. Coming' will be a different product then the one that I was given!
None of his records have made more than a passing impact at mixshows here in NYC which, besides being on mixtapes, is what's crucial to get Air Max Thea Black And Pink
