The Mercedes was on fake plates which were traced by police and found to contain the fingerprints of Karl Taylor.
The registration of the men's Mercedes getaway car was actually Nike Thea Metallic Navy KY58 NHX but police were still able to trace it.

Taylor of Duke Road, Hyde refused to co operate with the police in any way after being arrested early in December, and only pleaded guilty to a charge of aggravated burglary on the day his trial was due to start.
Taylor's prints were on the plates and he was also identified by a distinctive tattoo giving his son's date of birth, which Ms Anderson had spotted during the ordeal.
